Daviess County Courthouse
Location: Washington, Indiana
RH Contracting was awarded multiple interior scopes for the historic preservation and renovation of a county courthouse originally constructed in 1927. Our work began with 42,000 square feet of selective interior demolition, performed with strict controls to protect historically preserved materials. Through disciplined sequencing, documentation, and material handling, we delivered measurable cost savings and schedule efficiencies for the general contractor.
Following demolition, RH Contracting performed the repair and replacement of all remaining plaster and drywall systems throughout the facility. Our team brought a specialized skill set in historic plaster restoration, allowing the original construction to integrate seamlessly with modern office layouts while maintaining architectural integrity.
Additional scopes included installation of doors, frames, and hardware; restroom partitions and accessories; and construction of multiple ADA-compliant courtroom ramps. By consolidating multiple interior trades under one accountable contractor, RH Contracting reduced coordination risk, improved quality control, and supported a streamlined project closeout for the GC.
